Hello everyone! 

Is it hot where you are? It is where I am! oh my! It's Summer!

I've been trying to catch up on some things and I found this post I had saved to finish later. Only, it's much later. Oops! Anyway... I thought it sounded fun so here we are! A little bit of diversion!

 ~What is one of your favorite period drama lines that you find yourself quoting often?
"Yes, I would love some tea-yes-thank you-LEMON!" - Norman Warne (From the movie Miss Potter. One of my favorites.)

 ~What was the last book you read?
An Old Fashioned Girl, by L.M. Alcott

 ~What was the best movie you saw in 2014?
How to Train Your Dragon 2. I had no idea from the title of those movies that they would be so good. I was pleasantly and hysterically surprised. :)

 ~Who is one of your least-favorite period drama couples?
hmmm... Probably Pip and Stella from Great Expectations. They're quite aggravating.

 ~Who is the one period drama man you can most imagine yourself marrying? (This doesn't have to be your favorite literary/period drama hero, just the man you think you would be most suited to.)
Mr. Knightly of course! Although Raoul from Phantom of the Opera is a very close second :)

 ~ What is your favorite time period and culture to read about?
1800's U.K., America and Europe, Medieval Scotland (Has anyone else read The Scottish Chiefs by Jane Porter? ♥)

 ~Are you familiar with the Irish music group Celtic Woman? If so, who is your favorite of the singers?
This is a rather random question. ha ha! I have heard them but am not familiar with the singers. But I think they're voices (and hair) are beautiful. A celtic singer I really like is Julie Fowlis.

 ~What is one of your all-time favorite book covers?

 ~Is there a specific period drama/literary character whom you often find yourself quoting?

Pride and Prejudice in general... most often Mrs. Bennet  :)

 ~Is there a specific period drama/literary character whom you find yourself acting a lot like sometimes?
Anne Shirley and Bilbo. I've got a comfortable homebody Baggins side as well as an adventurous Tookish side which comes out every now and then. And Anne happens to be rather the same!

A question of decor...

I have a question for you. 

All of you.  Members and Readers, all.

This is technically, not just my blog and I just want to make sure that everyone knows 

I want and need your input! 

I would love to know your opinion on things and what better way than to ask? 

This blog is FINALLY letting me do polls on the side bar... 

So I am going to just post one every so often so that you will have a chance to let your brilliant ideas and your concerns about this blog come to light!

 This does not mean that you have to bother at all about it, but it does mean that you can let me know what you'd most like to see or talk about or whether I should have scones with my tea or biscuits!

So, to start off with, something simple... 

When I change the background and header next...

What should be the theme?

1.Nature

2.Fashion

3.A particular era

4.A style...as in Victorian, Bohemian, French Country, Nautical, Royal, etc.

5. Literary..as in a particular book, story or character etc.

6. Anything you can think of!

These are just ideas or guidelines.
If you want, you can just vote on the poll or just leave a comment or both!

Anyone who wants to can suggest any type of theme or idea! And please describe it as much as you like.

If you don't see it numbered, just write it in a comment.

If you don't want to.. then, that's ok too. :)

Meanwhile, I am coming up with new ideas for future polls and posts!

a visit to the world of big people

 Have you ever made something very, very tiny? 

What a delight it was to make these teensy playing cards!

And, with a little difficulty, play an entire card game. 

Doesn't she look like the Queen of Hearts? Ha ha!

 A dear friend of ours, from The Garret Corner, invited us over for a Regency Whist Party during the Christmas holidays. A perfectly jolly time we all had being together and learning how to play Whist with our amiable friends.

 So, I thought, why not bring it down to size for our fashionables, hmm?

And so I did. With card stock, pencil, pen, ink, a rubber stamp and some scissors. They are about 1/2" x 5/8" and the stack of 52 is about the same thickness as a people sized deck of cards. But, My! What a great deal of fun for such a tiny parcel.

 Go for a bike ride..

Aren't these good ideas? Aren't you inspired? Ha ha! I must say I have been inspired to do all of these things and have done some. ♥ 

Reading, drinking tea ("Obviously." - Mary Poppins), writing letters, making music, going for walks, looking fabulous ;), dancing, and even spontaneity.... Next on the list- sight seeing, going out for tea, "hunting" for some essential clothes for spring and bicycling.♥

A Headache of a Header

Well... I have FINALLY gotten this ridiculous header to work! -- Now that it's February. "Indeed!" I say to myself with the greatest indignation. Well... we may as well enjoy it for a while...

Because I REFUSE to take it off right away after if took ages to get right.  AGH!

Ehem... While I am not sorry at all for the insults aimed at this HORRID header, I am truly sorry for my dreadful outburst of emotion which I will try to subdue in future.

A Change of Clothes

Hello my dears!

It has been frightfully long since I've done anything on this poor neglected spot. Tisk, tisk. That wont do at all! I thought it needed a little cheering up and a 'change of clothes' so to speak.
So, Voila!
I hope everyone approves of the new look and is inspired by it. *wink wink*
I wanted it to be nice and summery! And while I'm at it, Happy Summer! I hope everyone is enjoying themselves immensely! I know I am. I've been doing quite a lot of gardening and sewing and camping and drinking iced tea and dreaming of dresses and hats and shoes... I'm in the process of making a 1700's dress that I stuffed into my closet years ago! It is coming along nicely.
Tell me what have you all been doing? I so miss all of you! It's been too long...

Inspiration....

I just happened across these photos of some antique doll clothes.

I thought they were most inspiring! As I hope you will too.

This first one really makes me wish I could knit.
What beautiful fabric! I LOVE that coat!

I put this one on here for you Miss Fiona! I absolutely adore these outfits!

Miss Emaline is still on Holiday... But I am sure she will have plenty to say when she returns!

Some items of randomness....

As Miss Emaline and her cousins are away visiting a friend, I (Marguerite) am taking the liberty of updating etc.
I hope you all like the new banner at top... I thought it was such a gorgeous painting I just had to make a banner of it. It was time for an update.
It is such a wonderful time of year, November... It's getting rather chilly out doors and one can't help but want to drink hot cider and sit by a roaring fire with a good book. Or a new dress to work on. =] My Sisters and I are currently getting ready for a Nutcracker Tea and Christmas Boutique to be held by May Farm Cottage. We are all tremendously excited! My sister Aimee and I are preparing a ballet dance for the entertainment of the tea guests and we're all making little ornaments and things to sell at the boutique! I simply cannot wait!
Here's a rather random little picture that is so lovely! I thought I would share it.
And here is a picture of some antique doll clothes that are just beautiful!
I absolutely adore the pink and green bustle dress! Very lovely!
