Meadow

"A cloudless sky; a world of heather,
Purple of foxglove; yellow of broom
We two among it, wading together
Shaking out honey, treading perfume.
Crowds of bees are giddy with clover,
Crowds of grasshoppers skip at our feet,
Crowds of larks at their matins hang over,
Thanking the Lord for a life so sweet."

Summer Scrapbook - part VI - Forest Reverie

Forest Reverie

                           "Nestled at his root
Is beauty, such as blooms not in the glare
Of the broad sun. That delicate forest flower
With scented breath, and look so like a smile,
Seems, as it issues from the shapeless mould,
An emanation of the indwelling Life,
A visible token of the upholding Love,
That are the soul of this wide universe."

Excerpt from A Forest Hymn
by William Cullen Bryant

I hope you've enjoyed my Summer Scrapbook!
There shall be more to come for Autumn! See you around!
Cheers!

Summer Scrapbook - part IV - Camouflage

Camouflage

Of all the things I did on my camping trip, putting this outfit together was the most fun!
The only thing I started with was hemp cord.

Hobbit Day!

Hullo my Happy Hobbits!

I hope you are having a marvelous day! I would love to hear what you do today! Please do tell!

Do you plan to stay at home?

Or shall you go on an adventure?

I don't know what I shall do yet... I suppose it depends on who may knock on my door today...
For now, I shall leave you with a quote from one of my all time favorite books....

The Hobbit
or
There and Back Again

With that he put on Bilbo a small coat of mail, wrought for some young elf-prince long ago. It was of silver-steel, which the elves call mithril, and with it went a belt of pearls and crystals. A light helm of figured leather, strengthened beneath with hoops of steel, and studded about the brim with white gems, was set upon the hobbit's head.
"I feel Magnificent," he thought; "but I expect I look rather absurd. How they would laugh on the Hill at home! Still I wish there was a looking-glass handy!"

I laughed so hard when I got to this part. I love Bilbo's thoughts.

"Good-bye and good luck, wherever you fare! If ever you are passing my way, don't wait to knock! Tea is at four; but any of you are welcome at any time!"
