Joy!

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Shade in Summer...

 
"And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and rain."

"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God; in Him will I trust."

A friend sent a few verses to me recently that put a smile on my face...
So I thought I would share them with you.
As I sit in the cool shade, it is a wonderful reminder of the sweet and refreshing shade of Jesus' caring love and protection through the storms of life and of this world.
This time of year especially, with the hot sun and thunderstorms we've been having, it is like looking at a beautiful illustration of what these verses are about.
